Noodles and Brothers
Fixing a car is never a one man job, and changing a life is never easy. So changing many lives takes a lot of work, and a lot of helping hands. Thankfully, with the help of our good friends Noodles and Company at Weschester, many lives were changed and bellies filled this past Sunday at Westchester Commons’ Summer Concert Series on the Village Green. Noodles and Company brought the food and great giveaways, while we provided the music and cold drinks. However, together we were able to give much more.
We had the privilege of giving away not one, but two cars as a part of our Recycled Rides program. One car went to a young lady who will see her life bloom now that she has reliable, and beautiful, transportation. The other vehicle was a full-sized van which we gave to Rubicon, a fantastic substance-abuse treatment program that has been serving the Richmond and surrounding areas for over 40 years. It will be used to transport patients to and from job interviews, work, doctor appointments, and any opportunity to make what Rubicon does a bit easier. However, as good as two new recycled rides are, what good are they on an empty stomach?
That’s where Noodles and Company once again saves the day. Not only did they provide delicious snacks and fun games during the concert, but donated dinner to the recipients of our recycled rides and to our staff. And believe us that is no easy undertaking! At Conner Brothers, we work up quite the appetite getting excited to give away these recycled rides, but thanks to our friends at Noodles and Company, we have the energy and strength to give away even more!
At Conner Brothers, we are far more than the sum of our parts. Giving back to our community is a team effort and without certain people and partners, it just wouldn’t be possible. Sunday marked the 55th Recycled Ride that we’ve given away and we’re nowhere near finished. Above all, we cannot do it without you and your support for the programs that inspire us and our community. But the fun isn’t done yet! Come join us at Westchester Commons on July 19th for more fun, more music, and much more noodles.
