History

Owners of the original Model-T's did not have body shops to go to when they were first introduced. The only person capable of repairing dents and dings in those days was the local blacksmith, and that is where our story begins.

Luel Albert Conner was a blacksmith like his father. He was also one of the very first body men in the state of Virginia. He passed the trade on to his sons, one of which was Doug Conner, Sr.  Both of Doug's sons also found their way into the trade. Doug, Jr. learned to be a painter working with his father after school. Don learned the craft while living in San Jose, CA. After returning to Richmond, Don teamed with Doug in 1975 to create a body shop where customers could receive a quality repair for a fair price.

Together the two brothers set a standard in the local auto-repair industry. Conner Brothers was one of the very first shops where body men performed their own frame work.  These days our body technician can perform their own mechanical repairs too.  Our technicians are the finest in the area!  They continue to help us set the standard for our industry in the Richmond area.
